Star Raiders—Battletech Comic & Art by SPACER.

Have you heard of the Battletech Graphic E-book “Star Raiders” and the artist known as “Spacer”? I recently went to a party that was hosted by Battletech fanatic and I met Spacer. I didn’t know he was a creative at first but we became fast friends as we both have a common interest in Battletech, gaming and art. He’s a graphic artist, a comic book creator and Battletech enthusiast like me.

Battletech for the newbies.

The Battletech Universe is huge. It spans thousands of years and thousands of planetary systems. But most or all of them originated from Terra, better known now as Earth. The worlds have been at war for countless centuries. Torn between the major houses, the Clans, Comstar, and the occasional Mercenary Company or pirate.

The Aries Convention has outlawed some forms of warfare, AKA Nukes. But that hasn’t stopped a few rogue houses, The Capellan Confederation, or Word of Blake, from breaking that treaty now and again. That being said, The Battlemech is the king of the battlefield in Battletech. That doesn’t mean that infantry or heavy vehicles or Aerospace Fighters do not have a role to play.

The Battletech universe is played out on the classic tabletop game. Or for newbies who don’t like math, they can enjoy the Alpha Strike game. Batteletech has online games and many on consoles games under various titles like Mechwarrior. Also, it can be lived out as a reader in countless Battletech Novels.

Star Raiders is Battletech Fan Art?

Star Raiders is a fan art project for Battletech. Although one day it may be cannon—it’s that good. But for now, they classified it as Fan art. What is Fan art?

Fan Art is: art created by a fan of, and featuring characters from, a particular TV series, movie, etc.

Star Raider’s is so much more than Fan art, but for now it’s classified as Fan Art.

Star Raiders a Digital Battletech Comic.

Star Raiders begins in the 31st Century and the all the known universe is at war. And the king of war in the 21st Century is the Battlemech. The Great Houses, The Clans and other factions fight it out in a constant struggle for power in the Inner Sphere.

Chapter 1 begins in the year 3063. Star Raiders follows the Mercenary unit known as S.S.R., Salvador’s Star Raiders and the life of a young Mechwarrior named Roy and a Merc Company.

The Art by Spacer is engaging and cinematic. And the storyline it will keep you clicking next page. I give the Online Comic 4/5 Stars! It’s great. The only reason I couldn’t give the comic 5 stars is because the Comic is not complete yet, but Spacer said more chapters are on the way.

The best part is that Star raiders is a free Comic book.

More about Spacer.

Spacer is an international man of mystery from the central European country of Croatia, but makes his home in the United States here in Texas. You can see a collection of his art on Deviant Art dot com. He has done art work for Mage Leader and TEX from the Black Pants Legion.

Spacer is a competent artist and mercenary. So if you have a Sci-Fi or fantasy art that you want created you may commission him to create some amazing art. You can find him on Facebook or Deviant Art.

But more than anything, Spacer is a Battletech enthusiast! He and I both share a love of the tabletop game of Battletech and other war games too.
